The Bugatti miniatures by EMC - Ukrain

Proceed directly to the Bugatti miniatures made by EMC

EMC-models has been producing car models since 1986. We are a team of like-minded people who love our work. We have more than 400 independently created projects, creating models for the Porsche Museum, Mercedes-Benz Classic Collection and many others. Our specialization is classic cars of the XX century, which went down in the history of the automotive industry. The major scale is 1 to 43.

The founder and permanent leader is Volodymyr Pivtorak, a man madly in love with his work, a fan of cars and motorsport, a collector of scale models. Bugatti has honored him with the title, “the gentleman who makes the best 1 to 43 scale cars in the world and a true artist”.

The result of our hard work and many years of experience: modelcars of the highest quality. Only handmade jewelry work, stunning detailing, full copy with the original vehicle. We are not looking for compromise solutions. We are constantly working to improve quality.

Volodymyr Pivtorak constantly monitors all stages of model creation. Before being sent to the buyer, the packaging of the model’s last quality control of the model’s manufacture is carried out personally by Volodymyr Pivtorak. EMC-models are recognized as some of the best in the world. This is a pride and welcome addition to the beating collection.

And then, EMC does not even mention the rather difficult situation now, during the war. Located in the Kiev region, they are not close to the front, however bombings are frequent, and sometimes nearby.
On the right: Top photo Mr. Pivtorak's private collection, below: one of the showcases after part of the miniatures had been taken during a hasty retreat. The premises were never damaged, however.

16 - 20 people work on creating one model from EMC, depending on the complexity of the model.
It all starts with the creation of drawings, 3D models with full detailing, and production of the master model.

This process is fully controlled by Mr. Pivtorak (like all other stages of production). After the design, the production of parts:

  • Hull
  • Jewelry casting - these are radiators, bumpers, car suspension, windshield frame, door handles - this is all high-precision jewelry micro casting from semi-precious and precious metals
Have you ever paid attention to the frame of the windshield - it is a jewelry casting and it is voluminous unlike all other manufacturers, because they use a photo-etched part, and it is flat.
  • Photoetching - also a separate person makes drawings under the personal guidance of Mr. Pivtorak
For photoetching, the highest quality polished material is used, which costs several times more than the usual one.
When the parts are ready, work with the body begins: Cleaning, preparation for priming, priming and painting. In these four stages, half of the body parts will go into the waste bin. Every stage is under supervision.

And then begins the assembly of the model. After the painted body parts, of which only half will be accepted without comment.

Polishing of body parts after painting is a separate type of work and takes a lot of time, and each body for the model is checked after polishing personally by Mr. Pivtorak. Therefore, all collectors and ordinary people are delighted with painting. At this stage, an artist - a miniaturist is included in the work. Painting the texture of the seats, instrument panel, moldings, license plates, interior door panels - a lot of work.

Assembly of the model - in the EMC workshop, this is probably the simplest stage in the manufacture of the model. The most difficult thing in this is to teach a person to make a model. It is very difficult.

The best EMC master died at the front - yes ... even he, with his initial skills and abilities, began to assemble models on his own only after a year of work at EMC.

The main slogan is: The maximum replica of the model with the original, no compromises are allowed. Mr. Pivtorak personally puts each model on the (usually leather-lined) base and closes it with the transparent top (held into place by small nails). And even at this stage he may have comments on the model and these will be corrected.

What Mr. Pivtoorak sees in 1 second, an ordinary person cannot see, unless he specifically draws his attention to it, imagine the process of creating drawings and 3D models - it is not at all fast and not easy at all.
